Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy utilizes manual therapy, movement analysis and other treatment modalities to help treat a variety of injuries.
Vestibular Physiotherapy
Recommended for any patients who are looking to be assessed and treated for Vestibular Dysfunction, BPPV, Dizziness and Post Concussion Syndrome.
Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy
Pelvic floor physiotherapy focuses on the muscles, ligaments, and tissues supporting the pelvis and lower abdomen. It's crucial for addressing issues like incontinence, pelvic pain, and discomfort during pregnancy. Accepting female clients only at this time.
Bike Fitting
A professional bike fit for any road, gravel, hybrid, or commuter bikes. Perfect for anyone looking to optimize performance, reduce pain, or improve their overall comfort. Sessions include both bike and cleat adjustments. We are currently unable to fit triathlon/TT bikes and mountain bikes.
Kinesiology
Kinesiology utilizes exercise therapy to improve your function and body awareness. Our therapists take a whole-body approach to your program design.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapists are trained to assess your body and apply specific hands-on techniques geared to reducing stress, anxiety and pain while improving overall function.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture utilizes very thin specialized needles, along with other modalities such as cupping and scraping, to unblock stagnant energy and balance the body to treat a variety of injuries and internal diseases.
Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a holistic, hands-on approach that views the body, and its physiological systems,
as one. The goal of osteopathy is to maintain and restore balance and function to all systems. When all
systems function in harmony, the body has a greater ability to self-regulate.

Shane completed his Honours Degree of Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2017. Prior to studying in Ireland, he completed his undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 2012.
Shane believes in an individualized combination of evidence-based manual therapy, exercise prescription, education, and a preventative treatment approach to combat injuries and maintain active lifestyles. Shane’s mission is the help clients reach their unique goals to help enhance their lives.

Danielle Belcourt
Danielle graduated from UBC with a Master of Physical Therapy degree. Prior to her Masters, she obtained a Bachelor of Science, Major in Biology and Minor in Kinesiology, at UFV. Danielle has a keen interest in working with clients with both orthopaedic/sports injuries, and those with neurological injuries, from her time spent previously working as a Kinesiologist.
Outside of the clinic, you will find Danielle staying active by attending spin classes and going to the gym; she also loves spending time outdoors, including kayaking, hiking, and traveling. Growing up, she enjoyed dance and playing volleyball, which allowed her to experience and better understand the determination and resilience required of athletes or of those who just love to stay active in their spare time. This experience, on top of her education/certifications, helps her bring evidence-based treatment and individualized rehabilitation to each of her clients.

Adam Chang
(He/Him/His)
Whether you are dealing with an injury, have been in pain for years, want to enhance your performance, or simply relax, Adam can address your needs. He utilizes a combination of Swedish massage, myofascial techniques, deep tissue releases, stretching, and joint mobilizations to meet your goals. Adam is also certified in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM).
As team RMT for the Coquitlam Express of the BCHL, Adam also treats hockey players and staff alongside a multidisciplinary medical team.
Adam has completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University, with an Active Health and Rehabilitation Concentration, and a certificate in Health & Fitness Studies. After completing his degree, he pursued massage therapy because of his interest in sports, appreciation of the complexity of the human body, and promoting health and wellness in a fulfilling manner.

Tanis Cuthbert
Tanis graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelors in Science in Kinesiology. While there, she received a scholarship to play varsity soccer after completing her youth soccer at Surrey United. Tanis obtained her Master of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of Brighton in England, graduating with distinction.
Tanis implements a combination of manual therapy, exercise therapy and education to help patients achieve their rehab goals. She understands that each person has unique needs and does her utmost to tailor individual rehab plans. Tanis draws from her experience as a high- level athlete, sustaining several injuries herself and therefore appreciates the physical and mental toll injuries have on athletes. Stefan Cvoric MPT, B.Kin, ACC Dry Needling
Stefan graduated from UBC with a Masters in Physical Therapy and Bachelors in Kinesiology. His approach to physio extends beyond his education, drawing on his history of personal injury and experience as a Varsity Rower. Stefan understands first hand the importance of injury prevention and rehabilitation.
His treatment approach combines a thorough assessment with an individualized combination of manual therapy, trigger point dry needling, patient education, and exercise prescription to empower clients to take control of their recovery. He has a keen interest in examining the underlying factors of injuries. His goal is to increase clients’ body awareness to minimize their time in the clinic and maximize their time doing what they love without being limited by pain.
As a Vancouverite, Stefan enjoys rotating through the seasonal activities from the mountains to the court, the same active lifestyle he helps his patients experience. Rony Gill
Rony graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science, Majoring in Kinesiology in 2017. He continued his pursuit of education at The University of Queensland in Australia, graduating with a Master’s of Physiotherapy Studies Degree in 2019.
As a life-long learner, Rony continues to stay up to date with the most recent research to integrate into his treatment with clients. Rony’s treatment philosophy involves addressing the cause of symptoms through various approaches including hands-on manual therapy, exercises, and client education. In the long-term, Rony believes that working one on one with the client towards self-management is key to helping patients achieve optimal health and develop healthy habits.

Kanwar Grewal
Kanwar completed his Doctorate of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne after finishing his Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia.
Kanwar was born and raised in South Vancouver, and participated in numerous sports growing up such as basketball, soccer, and track and field. He continued his basketball career at the post-secondary level, playing for the Langara Falcons for two seasons. During this time, he experienced numerous injuries, and worked with the team physiotherapist, which lead to a spark of interest in the profession.
Kanwar is a strong believer in implementing the biopsychosocial model with positive encouragement, manual therapy, exercise, and patient education, to help clients achieve the best outcomes.

Carly Grieve
Carly graduated from the Okanagan College of Massage Therapy in 2014, and uses deep tissue release to encourage long lasting pain relief. She uses a wide scope of techniques to encourage injury healing, increased range of motion, and general tissue health, while her treatment style is therapeutic and relaxing. Each patient she sees will have treatments tailored to their unique needs, and they can opt to receive personalized home care with each appointment.
Special interests within the scope of massage therapy are fascial work, tendinitis, and migraine management.

Gurinder Hothi 07396
Gurinder graduated Physiotherapy from UBC in 2012, fulfilling a lifelong dream he envisioned at age 13.
He was a young athlete who seemingly spent more time sidelined than on the field due to injuries. Gurinder sought change and desperately desired control over his pain and health.
This sparked a keen interest and passion for the human body and performance that has grown. Fast-forward a couple of decades and Gurinder is fulfilling a new dream by opening River District Physio.

Vu is a graduate from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. He has a background treating sports-related injuries, chronic pain, and repetitive strain injuries. Having experienced sports and work injuries himself, he found massage therapy to be the most beneficial in relieving pain and muscle tension from his injuries.

Joey Jung
Joey is a graduate of the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. He grew up playing competitive volleyball and basketball. Being an athlete himself, he has experienced some injuries like inversion sprains, and repetitive strain injuries. He has an interest with these injuries from going through them himself. With his passion for being active and injury prevention, he is focused on educating clients on ways to maintain their body for everyday life and their fitness goals. Some of the modalities he likes to use are general Swedish techniques, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and joint mobilizations. He believes that there isn’t a “one size fits all” approach and that each treatment plan should be tailored to the individual’s needs.

Peter Kang
Peter decided to pursue massage therapy because he has always had a passion and desire for helping others, and he believes massage therapy is very beneficial to a person’s overall wellbeing. He believes massage therapy can positively affect all aspects of health including the body and the mind.

Marcus Kwan
Marcus graduated from UBC with his Master of Physical Therapy shortly after completing his Kinesiology degree at SFU. Education is at the forefront of his treatment sessions and is complemented with specific exercise prescription and manual therapy. Kristen McLaren
Born and raised in the Lower Mainland, Kristen recently graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Exercise Science from the University of the Fraser Valley. Kristen is excited to kick-start her career here at River District Physio as a Kinesiologist.
Kristen has always had a passion for the rehabilitation process, specifically how beneficial manual and physical therapy are, especially after having a couple injuries herself. With the knowledge of how the body works she is excited to develop individual programs to get her clients back to their daily activities and achieve their fitness goals through education on pain management, functional movements and detailed assessments.

Neil Nijjar
Neil graduated from UBC with a Bachelor’s of Human Kinetics and a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. With his strong background in exercise and functional rehabilitation, Neil has a special interest in sport-related injuries and has worked with the New Westminster Hyacks Football, Sullivan Heights Football and Richmond Devils Hockey.
In his practice, he works with a wide array of clients, ranging from athletes of all levels, to individuals just looking to optimize their health. Neil uses a mix of hands-on manual therapy techniques, along with promoting movement & corrective exercise in treating his patients.
Currently, Neil holds his certificate in Chan Gunn IMS, along with his acupuncture certificate from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute, Level 2 Manual Therapy, and Mulligan Concept certifications.

Vic Sanghera 07595
Born and raised in the northern town of Williams Lake, British Columbia, Vic draws on his background as a competitive athlete and personal experiences with injury rehabilitation.
Along with being a ranked national level competitive swimmer for over 15 years, and a multi-time provincial gold medalist, Vic has trained and competed in various sports such as, Wrestling, Olympic Weightlifting, Track and Field, Basketball, and Football.
From his experiences as a competitive athlete, Vic has always been keen on optimizing human performance. Battling through major injuries of his own, he has learned from experience the effort required to diligently rehabilitate through injuries.
Vic completed his Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia in 2013 after obtaining his Bachelors of Science with a major in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University. He is certified with Chan Gunn IMS (a highly recognized Dry Needling Technique), Acupuncture Canada, and has also completed courses in Soft Tissue Release Techniques and Manual Therapy.

Alissa Vicente
Alissa graduated from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy and previously worked as a Certified Personal Trainer with a certification in Fascial Stretch Therapy. Her interest in helping individuals with chronic pain and overuse injuries led her to pursue massage therapy. Alissa combines Swedish massage, deep tissue techniques, fascial work, and stretching to create a treatment approach that is both therapeutic and deeply relaxing. She tailors each treatment to the unique needs of the individual.

Orrin Watkinson
Orrin graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Kinesiology, before graduating from the University of British Columbia with a Master of Physical Therapy. Orrin grew up in Williams Lake, BC, spent 6 years as a wildfire fighter, has played premier level rugby, and enjoys traveling.

Chris graduated from the University of British Columbia with his Bachelor of Kinesiology. Daniel Wu
Daniel Wu is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a registered acupuncturist with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia. Daniel graduated from the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver, BC. He did his internship training at the Provincial TCM Hospital of Chengdu University of TCM, China.
Born and raised in China, Daniel was surrounded by a rich TCM culture from a very young age, and he grew to believe in the natural healing power of TCM. It has become his lifelong passion to pass on the benefits of TCM to others.
Daniel has years of acupuncture experience helping patients recover from either physical or emotional pain. He feels a deep sense of satisfaction when he sees his patients doing much better after treatments.
